When Max Weber came up with the theory about bureaucracy,he expected the workers that would work in such organisation to be employed based on merit. This definitely would help to promote organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
However in Nigeria ,this is not so ,due to our pervasive and prevalent culture of nepotism. we place filial affiliations above merit.
This have help fill Nigeria Civil Service with average and below average staff. The result is stagnated development.

MAY MR PRESIDENT BE WELL
I WISH AS PRESIDENT YARDUA IS DEPICTED HERE,HE COULD REALLY BE A MAN OF STRENGTH.NOT THE SICKLY LOOKING LOOKING PERSON SHOWN ON TV TODAY DURING THE INDEPENDENCE BROADCAST.
SYMBOL OF THE COAT OF ARMS
A year ago I came across a 20years old post secondary student,I did wanted to know how much he knew of Nigeria, his country. He did impress me except that he does not know what the symbols of the coat of arms stands for.
Subsequently, I met many others with varying performance, most did well.Except for one very interesting case where the particular girl does not know who colonised Nigeria after six years in secondary school. She said it was Benin Republic.Interesting indeed!
I quite understand many would not know what the symbols of the coat of arms stands for,so I decided to remind us.
